We asked our community of 50 million Scouts around the world one simple question: What do you do to create a better world? Ok, go film it! Join us to see the results.
Are you a filmmaker with a story to tell? Then we want to hear from you! The very first World Scout Film Festival is now open for entries, and we want to see your films about Scouting and how young people are helping create a better world.
We are looking for films in three categories – short film (fiction), short film (documentary) and Social media video. You might find inspiration in the way Scouts are helping refugees and migrants, or the work they’re doing to address climate change or tackle gender equality. The only criteria is that there is a link to Scouting in the story and that Scouts are involved in the film’s production.
We’ve assembled an international jury that includes not only experts on Scouting, but also two award-winning filmmakers.
Winning Films Announce – Join us in congratulating the teams behind these 3 films for their creative achievement, and tune in live tomorrow at 9pm (UTC+8) to watch the winning films!
– Art Printing Works Sdn Bhd, 29, Jalan Riong, Bangsar, 59100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Prizes – The directors of the winning documentary and short film fiction will get to travel to Malaysia to present their entries at a special event in Kuala Lumpur, while the winners of all categories will receive a special package of Scout memorabilia from the World Scout Shop. The winning entries will also be uploaded across World Scouting’s online and social media channels.
An award ceremony will run from 6-8pm with the directors of the winning fiction and documentary films presenting their work and engaging in Q+A from the audience. Jury members James Lee and Steve Chao will give commentary on each film in conversation with the directors.
